This animated film, concerning the physical growth of airport facilities and the people-moving problems resulting from such sprawl, presents Eero Saarinen's concept for the then-proposed Dulles Airport near Washington DC. To accommodate the vastly increasing number of flights and passengers in America's busiest airports, Saarinen proposed such innovations as moving "departure lounges" that travel underground from compact terminals to outlying clusters of aircraft.
