An exuberant 10-year-old Dutch girl was a welcome beacon of hope to weary Canadian soldiers fighting the Nazis in Holland in 1944. The soldiers surprised Sussie at Christmas with a coat they asked a seamstress to make from a wool army blanket. Decades later, the soldier and Sue reconnected and fell in love, holding forever dear the coat that brough.
