Their children were Magdalena, Anna, Joseph, George F., John M., Peter and Michael. Joseph's brother George F. was born in 1834 in France and married Catherine Hill. The "Rolling Fork tragedy" refers to a fire that occured March 4, 1873 in which the store located in Rolling Fork, Mississippi that was owned by the Ring family burned. Killed in the fire were Joseph Ring, George's partner Jesse Moore and Jesse's family. The Rolling Fork landing was located 40 miles north of Vicksburg in Isaquena County."
