The diary of Captain Daniel Roe an officer of the French and Indian war and of the revolution: Brookhaven, Long Island, during portions of 1806-7-8

Daniel Roe was born in 1740 at Port Jefferson, Long Island, the son of John and Joanna Miller Roe, and a great grandson of John Roe (1628-1711), the immigrant. He married Daborah Brewster, daughter of Joseh Brewster, in 1762. They had twelve children, 1762-1782. The last four children were born while the family was living in Connecticut, during the Revolutionary War. He died at his home at Westfield, now Selden, Long Island, in 1820.
