Except for a few general science articles and the stock market report, the weekly Railway Times was devoted almost exclusively to railroading. All aspects of railroads were covered, from the construction of the railroad cars to the economics of the railroad business--articles dealt with iron and steel processing, new equipment and methods, railroad safety, construction of rails, bridges, and tunnels, and the problems of various railroads. In addition, timetables of various railways were published. Cf. American periodicals, 1741-1900.
