"A Don Juan type businessman in a world of modern women finds himself trapped and threatened by all of them."
"Modern day Don Juan finds himself set adrift on the stormy seas of middle age and feminism."
"Marcello falls asleep during a train journey. He dreams that he leaves the train to follow the woman from his compartment, and finds himself led by her to a feminist conference in full swing. Rowdy, ornate set-pieces typical of Fellini swirl Marcello onwards through the throng of women."
"The changing relationships between men and women are presented by Fellini, inspired as much by affection as by respectful curiosity. The exploration of the "female planet" is undertaken by Snaporaz (Mastroianni, as reckless as he is defenseless) and results in a brightly-colored, exciting cavalcade of images."
"Snaporaz (Marcello Mastroianni) is traveling on a train, nodding off. What follows is a dreamlike story. He follows a woman off the train and through a field and then loses her. Soon, as a representative of the male sex in general he finds himself in a hotel, among myriad women attending a feminist conference. Surreal episodes take him through a villa with his alter-ego Dr. Katzone, and references to his sexual exploits. Reunited with his former wife for a moment, he starts another sequence which reviews his past."
