Le développement comporte cinq parties largement illustrées d'exemples de gestes complexes: - représentation du mouvement où sont décrits kinogrammes et schémas des déplacements les plus classiques; - analyse du mouvement avec le choix des repères, la présentation des résultats et le traitement du signal; - caractéristiques mécaniques du mouvement; - compréhension du mouvement avec les lois de conservation, l'approche des forces et des lois de la biomécanique; - modélisation du mouvement où sont abordés les principaux exemples des gestes des activités physiques essentielles et un aperçu sur la normalisation. Le manuel se termine par un glossaire qui permet de s'initier à la terminologie biomécanique."
