The bulk of the collection is from Pima County Superior Court but also includes cases from the Supreme Court of Arizona, the U.S. District Court and other Arizona courts, mostly from 1950 to 1961. Also includes papers from Murphy's tenure as president of the Arizona State Bar Association and Arizona Pioneer's Historical Society. There are newspaper clippings about Arizona lawyers and law related activities as well as a small amount of photographs of lawyers including John Favour, Keith Quail, Morris Udall, Fred Struckmeyer, and Henry Ashurst. There are also photographs of the scene of Howell Manning's fatal accident. The litigants include Tucson, Gas & Electric, Southern Arizona Bank & Trust, Greyhound Bus, construction companies, swimming pool companies, drive-ins, water companies, individuals such as John W. Murphey, etc. The Cochise County Superior Court cases include correspondence from Frank E. Thomas, 1958-1960. There are records from the Arizona Court of Impeachment for A.P. Buzard and E.T. Williams, Jr. of the Arizona Tax Commission. There are papers from the 1958senatorial campaign of Ernest McFarland. There are also records of the Greyhound Bus accident case, 1959, and the disposition of the Sorrels estate, 1936-1940."
