This is a letter dated June 24, 1778 from Colonel Daniel Brodhead, commander of the 8th Pennsylvania Regiment, to General Lachlan McIntosh, commander of the Western Department. Brodhead complains to McIntosh that he is having trouble getting the necessary supplies for his regiment, which is ordered to march in a campaign against the British and unnamed Indians (possibly the Senecas) on the western frontier. Included in this document is McIntosh's brief letter of June 25th in reply to Brodhead, urging him to be prepared to march from Fort Pitt as soon as possible.
