This document is a letter written by William Holland Thomas to Captain Jarrett in Franklin dated November 11, 1839. Thomas wrote to Jarrett that the Commissioner of Indian Affairs had yet to complete his decision on claims submitted by Thomas on behalf of the Cherokees remaining East. Thomas also discussed his ginseng business and also commented on the difficulties he had encountered in courting girls in Washington DC.
