Changing steps [raw footage]

Merce Cunningham created and choreographed his "Changing steps" in 1973. On April 10th, 1974 he videotaped a performance of the work in black and white in his studio in New York City. The present tape is an ingenious collage of film clips from the New York tape (in black and white) and of clips recording later performances in Germany and various U.S. locations shot in color. Seen together these clips constitute a record of the complete work in both rehearsal and performance as well as in black and white and color.
