The printer's contract of the firm Blair and Rives was cancelled and a contract awarded to the firm of Gales and Seaton. Blair & Rives response was to issue a prospectus for two new publications: Extra globe, a weekly to run for six months and Congressional globe and appendix containing nothing but the proceedings of Congress, beginning May 31, 1841.
