"These God's Acres were established and the Crosses placed thereon to commemorate the sites of the original Huguenot churches that were once so important to this brave group of refugees who made their new homes in early South Carolina. There is no marker in the City of Charleston because the Huguenot Church which stands on Church Street today is considered to be a current and continuous commemoration of the Huguenot Spirit."--Acknowledgements, p. 2.
