Geology of the Carboniferous Bay St. George subbasin, western Newfoundland
This report presents the first comprehensive description of thegeology of the Carboniferous strata of the Bay St. Georgesubbasin in southwestern Newfoundland. It results fromsystematic 1:500,000 mapping and detailed stratigraphic studiescarried out between 1974 and 1978. The memoir provides adetailed description of the lithostratigraphy of the Bay St. George Carboniferous, an interpretation of the tectonic settingof sedimentation and of depositional environments, an analysis ofthe structural history of the area and an assessment of themineral potential.
