Paddle to the sea eVideo

This non-verbal film is designed to pictorially present the adventure, emotional appeal, and allure of the unknown described in H.C. Holling's book "Paddle to the Sea." It is an award winning film that follows an Indian boy's hand carved toy canoe from a northen Canadian stream through the Great Lakes and the St. Lawrence seaway to the distant Atlantic Ocean. The little canoe's adventures along the way are many: it plunges from the Niagara cataract; it sees the tragedy of industrial pollution; and it encounters swamp reeds, animals, large boats, and changing seasons. People all along the way who find the canoe are reluctant to return it to the water, but by luck or kindness they eventually do. The last person who finds it, repaints it, and returns it to the sea. In this way, the boy who carved the canoe has his dream realized - that one day the canoe reach the sea.
