Using archival film and photographs; interviews with historians and descendants, this film chronicles the life of Theodore Roosevelt from his birth in NYC, to his days at Harvard where he met his first wife, Alice Lee, his move into New York politics, his ranching days in the Badlands, his marriage to Edith Kermit, his vice-presidency and subsequent presidency, his reform politics, his post-presidency days which included an African safari, a Progressive Party bid for the presidency in 1912, a treacherous trip to chart a 1,000 mile river in Brazil and his support of World War I.
