Jam Tomorrow. A novel for girls, etc

"This is an unusual family story, amusing yet realistic. The absent-minded rector, his three children (a girl and two boys) plus two Canadian girl cousins, make up the family who motto is Jam tomorrow. The loss if their most unhelpful 'help' inspired them to take matters into their own hands, and from then on they ran the rectory by themselves, even managing to produce lunch for the bishop. An exciting climax is provided by the flooding of the rectory owing to heavy autumn rains and the great discovery which was revealed when the water at last subsided. Warmly recommended for girls 10-14"--Preliminary page.
