Stratton genealogy of Long Island, N.Y
John Stretton Sr. (b.1621) immigrated from England to Massachusetts, and became one of the first nine settlers of East Hampton, Long Island, New York in 1648. He was joined by his brother, Richard Stretton (b.1619) in 1650. Richard had earlier moved from Massachusetts to Southampton, Long Island. Descendants (chiefly spelling the surname Stratton) and relatives lived in New England, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Pennsylvania and elsewhere.
