Marketing your practice creating opportunities for success

Practitioners face new challenges resulting from the continually changing health care market reform initiatives that make it increasingly difficult to rely on the skills and strategies that served so well in the past. In addition to the American Psychological Association's continued advocacy against the threats of short-sighted efforts that sacrifice quality and outcomes for temporary cost savings, psychologists have an opportunity to develop and use the substantial bargaining power that can be achieved through collective creativity and energy. /// This text [is] dedicated to the concept that, by becoming better informed about the market changes occurring in health care today, practitioners can preserve quality of care and choose to participate in systems which recognize that the distinction between low cost and high value is the quality and outcome of care. /// The series may assist practitioners in channeling energy into constructive strategies for achieving the goal of preserving quality in an evolving health care market. The complexities of today's behavioral health care environment necessitate an understanding of a topic of increasing importance in this competitive environment--marketing a practice.
