The human cardiovascular system. The heart
Presents a detailed examination of the external and internal anatomy of the heart. Dissected human specimens and the cadaver are also used to show the heart's coronary and great vessels. A sheep heart is utilized to demonstrate the actions of closures of the atrioventricular and semilunar valves. The animation of the pathway of blood flow through the heart helps students correlate the anatomy of the heart with its function by illustrating the contraction of the atria and ventricles and the opening and closing of the valves during the cardiac cycle.
