- "Yamashiro Eikichi now manages a nightclub called Champion, but he was once a boxer who, ironically, lost his only championship bout. Despite his fiancée Natsuko's opposition, Eikichi aims to keep his dream of being a champion alive by training a boxer who can win the title. When he finds Fūma Shuntarō, a promising amateur boxer, Eikichi takes him under his wing and puts him on a hard training regimen. At the same time Eikichi meets Shiraki Mari, a young dancer who aspires to be a ballerina, decides to help her achieve her dream, and sets up a hard training program for her as well. When Mari and Shuntarō meet through Eikichi, Shuntarō is attracted to Mari, but Mari is secretly in love with Eikichi. Eikichi thinks Shuntarō's relationship with Natsuko was a distraction that cost him the championship, so he forbids Shuntarō to become involved with Mari."
