Genealogy of the Johnson-Tozer family and historical sketches

Salmon Johnson was born 26 April 1767. He married Mary Tozer (1773- 1846), daughter of Elishama Tozer, at Whitehall, New York. They had ten children. In 1824, the Johnsons, with four unmarried children and three married daughters, with their husbands and children, moved from Factoryville, Tioga County, New York, to Quaker Bottom, Lawrence County, Ohio. In 1826 they moved across the state and settled at Amherst, Ohio, known at that time as Black River township. Salmon died in 1846. Descendants lived in Ohio, New York, Illinois and elsewhere.
