Every 12 seconds in America, a woman is beaten by her husband or boyfriend. This program presents the experiences of three women who sought to break the cycle of violence by seeking refuge at a safe house, a place providing sanctuary for physically abused mothers and their children. Through their stories, Nancy, Jasmine, and Yenesia reveal a way of life in which the victims, hurt most by those who supposedly love them, often feel like the culprits.
