Positive Carers examines the responsibilities and rights of the individual, health care management and government agencies. Case studies provide a vivid framework for a discussion of the practicality of continuing employment after diagnosis and explores the dilemmas workers may face. The role of the media is generating unnecessary fear is documented and analysed in relation to public attitudes. There is a useful detailed proposal for local policy on the management of HIV-infected workers, as well as a summary of the current Department of Health guidelines."
