A Candid Confederate : William Edward Brodnax, 1827-1907
This accession consists principally of the letters of Brunswick County, Virginia resident William E. Brodnax (1827-1907) to his brother John Brodnax, written during the war years, 1861-1865. There is additional correspondence of close family relations. The transcribed letters include annotations and comments by the editor. There is a great deal of information on Confederate camp life, as well as the functioning of society and the economy in a war torn country.
