"The late R.G. Collingwood was Waynflete Professor of Metaphysical Philosophy in the University of Oxford from 1935-1941. Three of his other books are also available in paperback from Oxford University Press: The Principles of Art, The Idea of History, and The Idea of Nature. With J.N.L. Myres he wrote vol. 1 of the Oxford History of England: Roman Britain and the English Settlements. His autobiography is now established as a minor classic. An introduction by Stephen Tillman and an index were added in 1978"--Page 4 of cover.
