Travis shares his obsession for Cooper with his screechy best friend, Lola Bouilliabase (Kaki Hunter), much to the disgust of his grizzled pappy, Corpus C. Redfish (Art Carney). After hearing that Cooper and his band are on tour, Travis sets out to catch up to them and offer his services. Along the way, he meets a number of pop music stars, Blondie, Asleep at the Wheel, Hank Williams Jr., Roy Orbison, and Ramblin' Jack Elliott, who are all working on their own tours. Naive, but eager to learn the ways of the music business, Travis is occasionally sidetracked, but remains determined to make his rendezvous with destiny."
