Potential impacts of extended advance voting on voter turnout
The purpose of this study is to identify the likely impact of Bill C-55 (Extended Voting Opportunities; 39th Parliament, 1st Session) on voter turnout. This bill would increase the number of advance polling days from three to five. The study includes a literature review and examines the questions of who advanced voters are, and whether increased advance voting in an electoral district increases overall turnout in that district.
