  • "Summary: Today we are in the middle of one of the greatest human migrations in history, a mass movement of people from rural to urban areas. This influx of thousands of people into already crowded cities has created tremendous housing problems and local and national governments are desperately looking for solutions. Made for the Habitat Conference, held in Vancouver in 1976, this film investigates the international migration and its attendant problems. Photographed in Venezuela, Indonesia, Canada, Turkey, Senegal, Poland, Singapore and the United States, it shows how the authorities in these countries are attempting to cope with the situation and expresses the belief that people everywhere have a need for and will respond to a sense of place."
