Winter of the witch (film)

Summary: The story of what happens when a boy named Nicky and his mother decide to go and live in the country and meet a not-so-wicked witch when they move into a suspiciously cheap house. Neither mother nor the witch want to leave and eventually they come to a compromise. One day the witch makes them what she calls "happiness pancakes" and when these prove to be a great success, they open a pancake house. The film, which is based on a story by Wende and Harry Devlin, is narrated by actor Burgess Meredith and the witch is played by Hermione Gingold. Awards: International Film Festivals, Chicago and Venice.
