When the animals talked

Educator and folklorist Reverend Doctor William Faulkner, at age ninety-four, discusses Afro-American folktales that often had served as a form of protest and were used to pass secret messages among blacks during slavery. Faulkner, who first heard many of the tales from an ex-slave named Simon Brown in the early 1900s, discovers new stories on a fishing trip and reintroduces the real Br'er Rabbit.
