Voyage to the outer planets and beyond

For the past two and a half decades, the United States has been sending sophisticated, unmanned probes throughout the solar system in an effort to learn more about the sun and its family of planets. Most of those probes contained cameras and the means of transmitting live pictures to Earth. As a result, our view of the solar system has changed dramatically. By blending these fantastic pictures with computer animation, this program has become a musical video voyage through the solar system. In 1917 Gustav Holst wrote a remarkable musical suite entitled, "The planets". Using the most modern processing equipment, the specific musical phrases have been subtly altered to match the picture on the screen. This has created a unique performance of "The planets."
