Dreamchild the true story of Alice in Wonderland

In April 1932, Alice Liddell Hargreaves arrives in New York City to be the guest of honor at Columbia University's centenary celebration of Lewis Carroll's birth. Disembarking the ship from England, the imperious Mrs. Hargreaves is beseiged by reporters intent on getting the scoop on "Alice," the little girl who inspired the Reverend Dodgson's tales of Wonderland. The 80-year-old woman, bewildered by her American experience, retreats into memory recalling the Oxford summers of her youth and the stories told by the strange and solitary writer. She enters the fantasy world created for her and engages Carroll's fanciful creatures in conversation (brought to life by puppets from Jim Henson's Creature Shop). (Circulates).
