EAROMAR simulates freeway operational and structural performances to predict life-cycle roadway costs. This report illustrates EAROMAR's use through application in a case study and through a set of sensitivity runs. The case study deals with pavement reconstruction vs. rehabilitation alternatives on Rt. 128 in Massachusetts, a 6-to-8-lane freeway handling in excess of 100,000 vehicles per day. The types and sources of data required, the results predicted, and analyses of these results to develop specific conclusions are discussed.
