"The collection consists chiefly of letters to Henry Seidel Canby and the Saturday review of literature. There are letters addressed to Canby, who served as editor of the Saturday review from 1924 to 1936, from Christopher La Farge, Lafayette B. Mendel, Wallace Notestein, Garnet Smith, and Gilbert McCoy Troxell. Letters to Canby concern contributions to the review, including poetry and book reviews, and Garnet Smith's letter is accompanied by a holograph manuscript. The letter from Mendel discusses work by Boris Sokoloff. There are also letters addressed to Amy Loveman from Notestein, who discusses a multi-volume work on Joseph Chamberlain by James Louis Garvin, and from Charles Seymour."
