The earliest known Moore ancestor to arrive in the United States was John Moore who was born between 1598 and 1611 in England. He immigrated to America and settled in Sudbury, Massachusetts. John was married twice and was the father of at least nine children. His descendants married into a number of old and prominent families in New England and his numerous descendants eventually settled throughout the United States.
