St Peter's fair

St. Peter's Fair, a 3-day annual festival in which traders from as far as Flanders and Germany, gather to exhibit and sell their wares is about to begin. Brother Cadfael, anxious to prevent rising tempers from erupting between the merchants and the townspeople, is unable to prevent a worse kind of violence on the eve of the festival.
