"Variety show featuring music, dance, and comedy. The Black swan pas de deux (ca. 10 min. long), danced by Rudolf Nureyev and Svetlana Beriosova, begins at ca. 42 min. into the tape. The adagio was completely re-choreographed by Nureyev, and is danced to music written by Tchaikovsky for Swan lake, but lost between 1877 and 1953 (this music was also used by George Balanchine in his Tschaikovsky pas de deux of 1960). The two variations and coda of the pas de deux follow Petipa's choreography more closely. Other dance numbers on the program include the opening song and dance by the Paddy Stone Dancers ; an acrobatic dance by the Brovsky Twins ; a Russian song and dance by Millicent Martin and the Paddy Stone Dancers ; and a song and dance medley by Millicent Martin and Fess Parker."
