Scott Fitzgerald, first published in Colliers Magazine, and subsequently anthologized in his book Tales of the Jazz Age (occasionally published as The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Other Jazz Age Stories). ""F.
""The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" is a 1922 short story by F. Scott Fitzgerald. The story begins in 1860, just before the beginning of the American Civil War, with the birth of the protagonist, Benjamin Button. Benjamin is born with the physical appearance of a seventy-year-old man, and when his father first visits him mere hours after his birth he is already able to speak. To avoid embarrassment, Benjamin's father forces him to shave his beard and dye his hair in order to look younger. As the story progresses it soon becomes apparent to the Button family that Benjamin is aging b."@en
"Benjamin Button is born an old man, and gets progressively younger as the years of his life pass."
"Today, F. Scott Fitzgerald is known for his novels, but in his lifetime, his fame stemmed from his prolific achievement as one of America's most gifted story writers. "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," a witty and fantastical satire about aging, is one of his most memorable stories. In 1860 Benjamin Button is born an old man and mysteriously begins aging backward. At the beginning of his life he is withered and worn, but as he continues to grow younger he embraces life -- he goes to war, runs a business, falls in love, has children, goes to college and prep school, and, as his mind begins to devolve, he attends kindergarten and eventually returns to the care of his nurse. This strange and haunting story embodies the sharp social insight that has made Fitzgerald one of the great voices in the history of American literature."@en
"The classic F. Scott Fitzgerald story follows the adventures of a man who ages backwards after being born an old man in Baltimore in 1860."@en
"Full grown with a long, smoke-coloured beard, requiring the services of a cane and fonder of cigars than warm milk, Benjamin Button is a very curious baby indeed. And, as Benjamin becomes increasingly youthful with the passing years, his family wonders why he persists in the embarrassing folly of living in reverse. In this imaginative fable of ageing and the other stories collected here--including 'The Cut-Glass Bowl' in which an ill-meant gift haunts a family's misfortunes, 'The Four Fists' where a man's life shaped by a series of punches to his face, and the revelry, mobs and anguish of 'May Day'--F. Scott Fitzgerald displays his unmatched gift as a writer of short stories."
"In "The curious case of Benjamin Button" the protagonist is born an old man and ages in reverse until he becomes a baby, and then finally vanishes from earth."
"A graphic novel adaptation of a strange tale of a man who is "born" 70 years old and mysteriously ages in reverse."
"First published in 1922, it tells the story of a baby who is born with the physical appearance of a 70-year-old man, and then rejuvenates through aging. The novella has been adapted for the screen in 2008. The movie, starring Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett, was directed by David Fincher."@en
"Benjamin Button was a not-so-ordinary man who began his life under unusual circumstances. Born in his eighties, and unable to stop time, he continued to age backwards. His life story is detailed from the end of World War I in 1918 and into the 21st century, when he discovered a love that lasted beyond time."@en
