Building public health research, education and development in Canada a five site consultation
The Canadian Insititutes of Health Research (CIHR) - Institute of Population and Public Health (IPPH) asked the Ontario Public Health Research, Education and Development (PHRED) Partners to explore the experience of developing models congruent with the PHRED model in other provinces. Concern has been raised about the capacity of Canada's public health infrastructure to address public health threats. The PHRED Program provides practical training and develops public health research. The program has evolved in the five Ontario sites to increase the inclusion of practitioners in the planning and dissemination of research evidence.
