Early correspondence (1947-1952), writings, transcripts of lectures, project files, UCSD teaching materials documenting the career of an eminent U.S. neuroscientist and his involvement in anti-nuclear weapons and peace movements. The project files are generally concerned with Livingtson's efforts to map the human brain and with his activity in the Committee for Undernourished People. The collection also contains materials generated by John F. Fulton, a Yale University physiologist and Livingston's mentor. Included are Fulton's diary (1949-1957), Fulton's attempt at a history of the Yale University Medical School, and correspondence between Fulton and Livingston. The Robert Livingston Papers are only partial in their documentation of Livingston's career; the bulk of his papers were destroyed prior to 1996.
