Stella Parson and Harris family West Las Vegas Oral History Teen Project

An oral history created by Las Vegas teens. The teens conducted recorded interviews with long time African-American residents in the West Las Vegas area. The interviewees talked about their experiences and what it was like living in Las Vegas between 1950-1980. Stella Parson move to Las Vegas from a Lake Mississippi, Louisiana with her parents in the summer of 1941 at the age of five. Lois Hodge was the oldest of six children and Mary Louise Miller one of her sisters moved here with their mother in 1943 from Texas. Frank Harris was born in Las Vegas in 1945 and is the brother of Lois and Mary.
