The Town

This is the concluding volume of the trilogy depicting a pioneer family over the years. In this novel, the town grows and even changes its name. Sayward Wheeler and her husband move from the old cabin into a mansion, and one by one the children set up their own homes. Chancy, the youngest, delicate and spoiled by his mother, is one of the central characters. The book closes with Sayward's death.
