Magic Valley Pioneers : a Photographic Record of N.W. and Edna Corn Arrington

Noah Wesley Arrington (1889-1968) was born to Lee Roy Madison (1857- 1946) and Priscilla Jane Brisendine Arrington (1857-1959) in Cocke County, Tennessee. He came from Scots-Irish ancestors who had settled in western North Carolina and eastern Tennessee in the 1700s. In 1905 Noah moved with his family to Oklahoma where the family farmed and he married Edna Corn (1894-1960) in the summer of 1913. Edna was the daughter of James Corn (1853-1925) and Florence Elizabeth Kelso Corn (1856-1921) and was born in Dubois County, Indiana. Noah and Edna moved to Magic Valley, Idaho shortly after their marriage. In 1914 Noah bought his first farm. He was a succesful farmer and was active in church and community affairs. He served a mission for the LDS Church to the southern United States (1924-1926) and was Bishop of the Twin Falls First and then Third Wards for almost seventeen years. Edna was active in the LDS Relief Society and commiunity organizations. They were the parents of eleven children, nine of which lived to adulthood.
