Evaluation of the rice program : an assessment of investment returns, stage 2 : a report for the Rural Industries Research and Development Corporation

This report presents the results of detailed evaluations of five research clusters within the RIRDC rice portfolio including: fertiliser management, pest management, weed management, electromagnetic induction technology, and, the SWAGMAN decision tool to assist policy makers and farmers minimise net recharge and maximise gross margins. The evaluation takes a triple bottom line approach to identify the outcomes and benefits of the rice research clusters being evaluated because, in addition to the production or direct economic outcomes, the environmental and social impacts of the research are identified.
