Eric K. Shinseki collection
General description of the collection: The Eric K. Shinseki collection span the years 1985-2001. The bulk of the collection documents Shinseki's service as Chief of Staff from 1999 to 2003. Also included are documents from Shinseki's assignments as Commander, United States Army Europe and the Stabilization Force to Bosnia as well as Vice Chief of Staff of the Army. Significant to the collection are Shinseki's letters of condolence to the family members of those killed in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks at the Pentagon; correspondence about the general issue of the black beret; and the formulation of the Army Family Team Building program.
