Mumford memoirs, being the story of the New England Mumfords from the year 1655 to the present time
Thomas Mumford (ca. 1625-1692) was living in Rhode Island by 1655 when he married Sarah Sherman, daughter of Philip Sherman. They had four children, 1656-1668. Record gives other descendants and allied lines in appendixes, but chiefly follows line of descent to Thomas Mumford V (1728-1792) and David Mumford (1731-1807), sons of Thomas Mumford IV (1707-ca. 1750). Descendants listed lived in Connecticut, New York and elsewhere.
