Asahel Blodgett of Hudson and Dorchester, N.H. his American ancestors and his descendants
Thomas Blodgett (ca. 1605-1642), his wife, Susan, and two sons, emigrated from England and settled at Newtowne (Cambridge), Massachusetts, in 1635. His descendant of the sixth generation, Asahel Blodgett (1755-1842), was born at Nottingham West, now Hudson, New Hampshire, the son of Jeremiah and Miriam Provender Blodgett. He married Catherine Pollard (1761-1795) in 1781. They had seven children, 1782-1793. He married 2) Lois Pollard (b. 1771), sister of Catherine Pollard Blodgett, ca. 1796. They had six children, 1798-1810. The family moved from Hudson to Dorchester, New Hampshire, in 1806. He died at Dorchester. Descendants listed, chiefly male lines, lived in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, New York, and elsewhere.
