He claims he was framed and he appeals for a new trial based on new evidence presented by Arto Williams, a former witness, an appeal which is denied."
"This documentary chronicles the possible frame and conviction of Black activist Martin Sostre. The owner of three black bookstores in Buffalo known for their selections of subversive political literature, Sostre was arrested in 1967 for the sale of heroin and for inciting riots. Convicted to 30-41 years in prison, Sostre continues to claim his innocence. The film suggests his arrest as a a frame in order to punish Sostre for his political beliefs. Includes interviews with Sostre, witnesses, police officers and other figures involved with the case, as well as footage of the Buffalo "ghetto riots" of the summer of 1967.--Peter De Domenico, 6/94."
