Escape to Egypt

Omens, signs, and dreams early in Jesus' life signify the importance of His coming. Jesus is presented in the Temple and declared to be the Messiah by the rabbi Simeon and the holy woman Anna. Three Wise Men from the East arrive to pay homage to the newborn King. Alerted by their visit, King Herod seeks to destroy this threat to his power and orders the ruthless slaughter of all male infants in Bethlehem. Warned by an angel, Mary and Joseph flee to Egypt with the Christ Child.
